The first time i heard MF DOOM was probably around 1995 in the basement of our spot on 45th & Burleigh. One of the homies big brother pulled me to the side and said i should check out a rapper named MF DOOM. I just remember hearing this rawness similar to Ol Dirty Bastard from Wu Tang Clan. Seeing I heard ODB first thats where the comparison came from. Not knowing that DOOM had already been on the hip hop scene for some time and inspired the likes of ODB and other clan members. Growing up i lost my love of underground hip hop and swayed more towards the gritty street raps coming from Gang Starr, CNN, Mobb Deep, Nas, Kool G. Rap and the other heavy hitters at the time. I never stopped appreciating everything the Metal Face rapper brought to our beloved culture. Since hearing about his untimely departing from this physical realm i been diggin into the stash and listening to everything DOOM. I came across this and thought I would share.
